Art Toronto 2025: Discover, presented by RBC - Jake Kimble

23 - 26 October 2025
Overview

United Contemporary is thrilled to be participating in the 26th edition of Art Toronto, set to take place October 23-26, 2025 in downtown Toronto at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

This year, we are especially excited to be participating in the Discover category, presented by RBC, with a solo booth (A32) by Jake Kimble. In this newest body of work, the multidisciplinary artist and curator from Treaty 8 Territory in the Northwest Territories presents a series of photographic pieces layered with beaded interventions. Drawing from familial tradition and history, Kimble’s practice reflects on personal experiences of recent trauma and grief, while addressing the ongoing and sustained distress caused by colonial legacies.

The Discover program, co-created by Art Toronto and RBC, offers galleries exhibiting at the fair opportunities for their emerging and reemerging artists to showcase their work and build meaningful connections to the broader community. This year, eight galleries were selected by a committee including Corrie Jackson, RBC Senior Curator; Mia Nielsen, Director, Art Toronto and Sarah Milroy, Executive Director and Chief Curator, McMichael Canadian Art Collection.

“Supporting the Discover program is a meaningful opportunity to bring visibility to exceptional artists. It creates connection with Art Toronto’s national and international audiences, and reflects RBC’s ongoing commitment to elevating the visibility of Canadian art.” says Corrie Jackson, RBC Senior Curator. “Seeing the perspectives brought forward by artists is a reminder of the important dialogues of our time. Thank you to Art Toronto, the artists and galleries for your engagement.”

The 2025 edition of Art Toronto will bring together galleries from across Canada offering artists a powerful platform to engage with curators, collectors, and the public. Supporting and celebrating the art community is not just important – it is essential to fostering a vibrant, inclusive culture.
