Gloria Wong (b. 1998) is a visual artist based between Tkaronto/Toronto and Vancouver, on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations. Her work explores the complexities and nuances of Asian diasporic identities and how they are shaped by different relationships — between people, their environments or objects. Through her lens-based practice, she is interested in the ways that this identity and lineage is constructed, negotiated and documented through embodied acts of care, memory and gesture.
Her work has been exhibited locally and internationally, recent exhibitions include solo exhibitions at Or Gallery and Micki Meng Gallery and group exhibitions at the Cantor Arts Center, the plumb, Burrard Arts Foundation and The Polygon Gallery. Wong holds a BFA in Photography from Emily Carr University of Arts + Design (2020).
