Delali Cofie

CBC Arts - CONTACT Photo Festival (Public Art)

Ahead of the opening of the 2026 CONTACT Photo Festival, Delali Cofie’s work has been featured in CBC Arts in an article by Leah Collins. What to See at Canada’s Largest Photo Festival highlights Cofie’s powerful black-and-white photograph Independence Square II currently on view as part of the festival.

Installed at Queen St. W & Augusta Ave., the work transforms a fleeting moment into a monumental public image. Set within the city’s visual rhythm, Cofie’s photograph invites passersby into a scene of everyday life in Accra, Ghana—bridging geographies and daily rituals across the Atlantic.

The billboard will be on view from May 1-31, in tandem with the artists solo exhibition at United Contemporary, A Place of Ours, curated by Emilie Croning.
